Riverwalk Pet Hospital and Resort is the result of its owners’ dream to create a Fear Free® practice in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The owners wanted the building to have a calming, spa-like feel from the entry through the facility. The reception and lobby area features ceiling-height windows which bring in abundant
natural light. The space also contains a waterfall feature, natural stone elements, and comfortable seating to make the space feel tranquil to clients and pets.
Fear Free was considered in every space in the building from the paint choices, and the non-slip flooring, to the noise reduction strategies, and the sizing of the animal housing in the resort.
The hospital features two covered outdoor waiting and exam areas for more fearful pets. It also has two feline-only exam rooms, a feline treatment area, and a cat ward all within close proximity to allow for maximum cat and dog separation in the medical areas.
Additionally, the hospital features four tables in the main treatment area, two tables in the surgery suite, and a conference space for educational and community events.
The boarding area spaces also consider comfort and enrichment for all of the animals, with housing sized for various canine breeds and indoor and outdoor play areas.
