The Morningside Animal Hospital is a 6,918 square-foot, two-story, small animal hospital located in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The facility includes five exam rooms, four treatment stations, a two-table surgery suite, a grooming room, and both dog and cat boarding areas.
Morningside was a multi-faceted project from both a management and a construction perspective. It began as a venture to combine two existing entities – a freestanding hospital and a tenant finish located in a strip mall – into one hospital.
Thankfully, the freestanding hospital was located on a wonderful site enabling us to build the new hospital adjacent to the original hospital which stayed operational during construction. The building positioning was a tight squeeze with the new construction coming within inches of the original hospital. The new hospital and demolition of the original hospital worked out beautifully and resulted in an award-winning finished product.
