The Adobe Animal Hospital is a mega-sized, general practice that also offers specialty care. As a result, it is big, and has big needs. The key component of the design plan was to maximize the capacity of this former pharmacy building so the hospital has 30 percent more exam room space per total building area than the industry norm.
The 14,000 square-foot facility includes three surgery suites, three dental units, and nine treatment stations. This was accomplished without sacrificing the client or work environments.
The Adobe Animal Hospital’s design is urban and upscale. Behind the reception desk, a distinctive mosaic tile sets off the hospital logo. The porcelain tile in the hallways is a rich dark grey. The reception desk is an inch thick slab of glass 26 feet long. Rich green, violet, and blue walls set off the fun artistic photography of staff pets. Honey maple cabinetry adds richness and color in both the waiting area and the exam rooms.
