Overview

The Kinkeade Campus training center in Texas is a 23,000 square-foot campus for the care and training of service dogs for veterans. The project opened on November 9, 2015 after over three years of partnership between Canine Companions for Independence (the operator) and Baylor Scott & White Health.

The campus is located at the Baylor Scott & White Irving location and it includes eight dormitory rooms for clients, a training center for clients and dogs, twenty-four state-of-the-art dog kennels, and a veterinary facility.

This is CCI’s sixth training center in the country, allowing them to provide an even greater number of assistance dogs, free of charge, to people with physical and developmental disabilities. The goal of the new campus is to graduate 60 teams of humans and companion animals per year.
