Overview

Prescott GSVS was looking to expand the services they provide to the greater Woodbridge community which led them to find a former men’s warehouse clothing store. The large, mostly open space made a great canvas to create their new state-of-the-art veterinary emergency and specialty hospital.

From the public entrance, the first third of the building is split with one side dedicated to emergency care and the other to specialty care. Six emergency and nine specialty exam rooms flow into separate treatment stations that occupy a large, central area from which patients, doctors, and staff can access all of the back-of-house functions of the hospital along a wide spine-like
aisle that runs down the building.

The very back of the facility houses the staff spaces, including offices, a break room, a conference room, and rest rooms and lockers.

The medical areas that service the many specialties the hospital provides are numerous. Diagnostic imaging includes a CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, and two ultrasound suites. Oncology was designed to meet the latest USP 800 standards for compounding and the unit has its own exam and treatment spaces as well.

Four large surgery suites, including one double-table suite are accessed via a sterile corridor, which also provides access to a dedicated radiology room.

Other specialties that are provided dedicated spaces within the facility include ICU, cardiology, dermatology, and neurology.
