Overview

Back in 2013, we helped the doctors at Left Hand with the design of their first hospital in a small lease space on the main street of Niwot. Their successful practice quickly outgrew this space and when another, larger existing building around the corner with ample front and side yards became available, they were ready to make the move.

Originally constructed as a church, this building had long history and a number of incarnations through which the building grew into an eclectic assemblage of forms. To create the space the hospital needed, we added an addition onto the front to unify the look of the building and provide some character to help it fit within the style of the existing historic neighborhood. The new addition furnished the space for the reception and waiting areas and two cat exam rooms.

The remainder of the first floor houses dog exam rooms, the laboratory and pharmacy, treatment, X-ray, surgery and wards. The second floor was built out for additional storage and office space.
