Overview

With their remodel and addition, VCMB wanted to keep the charm and character of their 1930’s beach-town look in the new design.

To help capture this intent, Animal Arts researched Myrtle Beach structures and landmarks for the outside stucco of the building, adding round windows and structural elements to integrate the building into Myrtle Beach while also making it unique.

In addition to the work on the building, the site, four blocks from the beach, was regraded and a below-grade water retainment system was installed to keep the building safe in hurricane season.

Almost every space inside the building was touched in the remodel. New cabinetry and flooring were installed throughout. The treatment area was redesigned, along with pack/prep and a second surgery suite was added.

Separate cat exam and treatment spaces were incorporated. The cat boarding area includes a catio. A breezeway for waiting clients, self-service dog grooming, and dog boarding spaces with roll-up doors to the outside play space were all included in the redesign.
